Photographer’s Note

The photo shows the Vesturhorn mountain (to the left; seen also in the previously posted pictures Isolation 1 and 2) from a new angle. The mountain constitute the southeastern tip of Iceland, and are here seen more or less from the north. The picture was taken on september 11´th this year, and the solitude and beauty in this picture sharply contrast with those events unfolding in Sweden at the same time. 10 min before this picture was taken I learned from a news bulletin that the swedish foreign minister Anna Lindh had been stabbed, and later died from her injuries. Hence, all pictures taken this day and the following during the journey bring out very mixed emotions in me.

Absolutely beautiful. The panoramic view is phantastic. You sharpened quite a lot, there is a halo at the left on the mountain ridges. This will become one of my favourites. Thanks for sharing

Wonderful and so clean lines in this lovely landscape. A classic 4 horizontal strips - green field, warwe, mountains, and great sky.
Such a virgin place!

Nice panorama highlighted by a play of lights and shadows. Smooths lines pleasant for the eyes. A note would be interesting.

Snyggt Fredrik! Note how the repetion of the shapes work to enhance the effect. The angle of the light adds texture to the mountain sides.

What can i say. Iceland is a beautifull country. Only wish i hade more time to explore when i was there. The colours are great as well as the sharpness. Nice note, i agree, it's a big contrast between teh clamnes in this place and the events in Sweden at the time.

Ironiskt att världen kan vara så vacker samtidigt som den är så ondskefull. Den 11 september är för de flesta ett datum som står för hemskheter av olika slag, därför är det extra speciellt att du fångat ett så lugnt, harmoniskt och vackert landskap just detta datum.
