Photographer's Note

One of the greatest moment on our trip to Iceland last june was a whale watching cruise in Husavik bay. The weather was wonderful, the sea was calm (quite unusual in Iceland !), the landscape around was fantastic ... and most of all we could see a lot of whales ! Husavik is a city on the north coast of Iceland. It has developed tourism on last years and the Husavik is today considered as the european capital for whale watching. Many boats, often former fishing boats, take you away in the bay to watch whales, in particular humpack whales, that come back every summer in the bay to eat. I embarked into a boat very similar to the one you can see on the photo. The cruise lasted 3 hours and we could see the whales from close as you can see on the picture. These are unforgettable and exciting moments, some that make you behave like a child !
