Sunset in the great bay Photo

Photographer’s Note

Sunset over the Breidafjordur, seen from Stykkisholmur and its little lighthouse. Breidafjordur is a large bay where there are thousands and thousands little islands. One is unhabited: Flatey.
The ferry Baldur allows to cross the bay from Brjanslaekur to Stykkisholmur, with a stop at Flatey, two times a day.

A very atmospheric evening shot. I love to see photos from Iceland, and this one has that great sense of space and vastness which I have come to associate with this land. I love those wispy clouds, and the little bit of light gleaming on the lighthouse. A nicely composed and beautifully mellow picture.

Amazing color tones between fantastic sunset colors and blue on sky. Excellently build POV adds the sea and reflection on cylindrical face of lights house. Silhouette of lighthouse is adding great value to your well taken photo. Very good clarity and sharpness in natural colors. Congratulations.

hello Mickael,
even though the photo's taken in July, for some reason the pale light of the morning makes everything feel very cold, as if the clouds in the sky were frozen ice crystals. the lighthouse seems to be standing at the edge of the world, and the sun is just in the right place to fill the empty space on the left. excellent work, my compliments.

That's a superb sunset and the composition you have done is also outstanding! The photograph is truly attractive, with wonderful colors (specially in the sky, of course) and brightness! The use of that small lighthouse to compose the image was a very good idea and the result really pleases me!

Je viens pour la première fois dans la galerie... et j'ai été immédiatement attirée par ce beau coucher de soleil, surplombé d'un début d'heure bleue.
Quel spectacle!!!
J'aime aussi la façon dont tu as composé, avec le phare bien sur la droite, en parfaite opposition avec le soleil.
