This waterfalls emerging from the junction of porous rock and basalt, falling into a 1 km long gorge created by the glacial river Hvítá.
Notice a huge lava field. the name means "lava waterfall"
This waterfall is just near Barnafoss who means "children's waterfall" because on christmas time long years ago all the village was at church except two childs who were discovered died nera the waterfall

Normally I am not a huge fan of overly slow shutter speeds and the effect they create, but this is such a nice shot. Beautiful color and clarity, lovely light, good contrast.
