Photographer's Note

Not far from my previous shot, here is Barnafoss watefall on river Hvítá. The name Barnafoss means children waterfall and comes from a sad local story. On Christmas Eve the children of Hraunsás stayed at home while the parents went to mass. But instead of staying at home they played on the arch over the river, fell in the waterfall and died ... When the mother knew what happened, she destroyed this natural bridge. Yes, one more sad legend as there are so many in Iceland !
