Photographer’s Note

What is she doing?
She is looking the birds which are living some many in the cliff of Latrabjarg. You can see them in WS.
The cliff, on the westest point of Iceland and so of Europe can reach 400m high.

Mais que fait elle?
Elle observe les nombreux oiseaux (voir le WS) qui nichent dans la falaise de Latrabjarg, le cap le plus occidental de l Islande et donc de l Europe. Le Groenland est a porté de main (enfin a quelques 200km).

She is one of the Die hard TE member, trying to get a POV that we have never seen before :) It's amazing what photographers do to get the shot they want. I think I'm not so brave. I see you did it too in WS, great shot too. I like it, I think it's worth the shot, I would want someone to hold my legs or tie myself to a big rock or something. This one is impressive, the vetical formate accentuate the height of the cliff. Great work. Thanks

A vertigo inducing, heart stopping, spine chilling photi...but possibly I might have done the same! :-) The vertical format is apt for the shot, as it accentuates the height! Lovely birs in the WS...which means did you take the same posture?

elle prend des risques pour observer les oiseaux ; quand à toi qui la prend en photo, on pourrait croire que tu es dans le vide.
Image de cette falaise bien composée, avec cette tache rouge posée dessus, sous une lumière agréable.

Ah voila le retour des vestes rouges ! C'est sur la vaut mieux ramper si on a un peu le vertige... le cadrage vertical amplifie le cote vertige en faisant apparaitre la vraime dimension de la falaise

Je croyais que c'était une photographe bravant tous les dangers pour offrir un point de vue vertigineux ;o). Ah non, ça c'est toi, toujours à l'affût d'un sujet et n'hésitant pas à tutoyer la falaise pour une vue spectaculaire !
Tu sembles juste au bord, et l'effet est saisissant pour qui a le vertige...
Un format vertical qui s'imposait pour rendre un peu de la hauteur impressionnante, un sujet pour animer la scène ayant la bonne idée d'être en rouge, et une qualité comme toujours irréprochable.
Bravo pour celle-ci et pour le WS adorable. Le bokeh, avec l'eau en arrière-plan comme des étincellles est superbe.

Près de ce type de falaise, il y a toujours de oiseaux, souvent des gens se couchent pour essayer de voit leurs nids.
Ce qu'il y a de plus étonnant c'est la place du photographe comme le dit Yannis.Je pense que la réponse est assez simple : la falaise fait un arc de cercle et forme une petite crique.
Au fait les oiseaux que tu nous montres ce sont je suppose ces oisaeux symbole de l'Islande les macareux Moine ?

cute birds (in the Workshop) and a really effective presentation of the viewer lying and looking at the birds :) I like the POV! the lady's red jacket also enlivens the scene :)

Celle-ci est particulièrement spectaculaire.

Salut Yves, good question, good title. Is that woman mad?? Great use of the vertical to emphasise the sheerness and height of this cliff. I feel dizzy just looking at it. I think that these lady get a little bit fear of heights, perhaps normal when we see the very high hight.

une photo très impressionnante et un cadrage qui permet d'apprécier le travail fourni par cette personne pour avoir le meilleur POV. C'est risqué mais bon... En tout cas le format vertical s'imposait ici. Bien vu.

This sort of thing always scares me. I don't mind leaning over cliffs myself, but I'm not very happy witnessing what others are leaning on! Mind you, she's probably having to watch you stand on something equally insubstantial to take this shot!

A good shot, one which needed the human element to make the scale apparent - and give us all a little scare! :0

Bonsoir Yves,

Je pensais que, comme moi, cette femme avait le vertige !!! Car ces falaises sont vraiment à pic, le plongeon est impressionnant. Je pense que je n'aurai pas pu faire cette prise sans être attiré par le vide... Il faut avoir vraiment la passion du macareu. Une belle et intéressante image, merci pour la photo bonus.

Une image qui donne le vertige ! Comme je te le disais précédemment, la présence de cette femme est judicieuse. Cela apporte du contraste au niveau des couleurs et nous permet d'estimer la hauteur de la falaise.
