We left Bjarnarfjörđur (25km Nth of Holmavik) en route to Isafjordur. Driving in light rain and sleet, road 61 took us above the snow line of a mountain range . At about the top of the range we spotted this lonely stone hut near the junction of road 608. I parked in road 608 and ran back in the rain to get some photos. (ISO 200, f4.5)
If you check out street view at 65.751885, -22.131674you should see the hut when you rotate the view.

A very moody atmosphere that suits the subject perfectly. Nicely composed and superbly rendered in black and white.

Great shot, Trevor. I agree with Stephen that the moodiness of this one is an attractive feature. I also like how the b & w treatment accentuates the different textures.

splendido scatto e ottima scelta del b&w, questo soggetto č perfetto per questo.
Ottima scala dei grigi, le pietre sono molto belle e di eccellente qualitā.

Hello again Trevor
I just can't resist this set of black and white images from Iceland. You've certainly made me think seriously about a visit there. Why these fine photographs aren't attracting more attention, I don't know, except to say that monochrome seems generally less popular on this site, which these days seems to prefer postcards. The bleakness and isolation are extreme and beautiful. Great work.
