Hi Joachim,
Another wonderfully atmospheric shot with beautiful light on the snow and the water/ice(?) in the foreground, contrasting perfectly with the dark sky and stars.
The sensation of cold is overpowering, like a scene from another planet.
Nice story about the trolls' seats.

fantastic shot, Joachim, I like a lot the dark sky and soft golden light on the snow, the strong contrasts certainly creates a very captivating image and adds drama to the scene. superb details, and I quite like the vertical format that you have chosen.

I wish I were a troll! watching the stars and the bay, to sit there in this overwhelming beauty. I prefer it in the winter than the summer, more mysterious, more fantastic; great job you did with the lights and atmosphere, compliments !

Hallo Joachim! Ich hoffe ich darf "duetsch schriibe" otherwise please tell me (langsam werde ich muede, immer nur Englisch zu tippen und es braucht einfach mehr Zeit, als wenn ich in ein paar Sekunden einen deutschen Text reinhaue). Das gelblich-orange Licht im Schnee ist speziell und der Nachthimmel einmalig und ich denke, dass man so etwas wirklich nur dort oben sieht, im fernen Island, weg von all den Lichtern, die Grosstaedte mit sich bringen (und in der Schweiz wachsen wahrlich alle Staedte und Doerfer ineinander). Der Hauch von Nebel ueber dem Nachthimmel ist magisch und kein Wunder, glaubt man hier an Kobolde und andere Feen. Tolles Bild ... was machst Du in Island? Gruss, Barbara.

It's an impressive shot,and it's impressive too how clear is Orion..,you are lucky.In my last travel(to Morocco) I tried to take a shot from this constellation,but it's not easy without tripod..,the lanscape in your shot is an incredible place to stay,and you've captured it very good,thanks for sharing and best regards,
