Photographer’s Note
My second photograph of the Blue Lagoon in South-Western Iceland - this time a shot from inside the lagoon. See here for a view just outside the lagoon.
Despite the snow & ice covered landscape and a temperature of around -10 degrees celsius, the geo-thermal activity underground heats the water to a temperature similar to that of a hot bath - and to much hotter in places. The minerals in the water are also supposed to help with a number of ailments.
No post-processing has been done other than resizing, cropping and sharpening a little.
Apologies for the quality of the photo, but it was taken standing only in my swimming shorts, in -10 degrees, and bare-foot on an ice-covered terrace, so I wasn't going to hang around for long to find the perfect shot!!
