Photographer's Note
Day 3 - Vik
A last picture of our drive on route number 214 near Vik. At the place where I took this photo, we were close to the end of the track road and had a great POV on impressive Mýrdalssandur sandur landscape (read my previous post if you don't know what a sandur is !). At the very background on the left you can see a black relief which is actually a tongue of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier. It is black because of vulcanic alluviums carried by the glacier. You feel on an other planet, don't you ?

One of the better road photos Ive seen for long time Olivier, seems like the end of the world this place:=],youve got superbe sunlight here and the winding road is vital for the composition.

Bonjour Olivier ,

Bonsoir Olivier
I think I would never get tired of your pictures from that place. They are all so gorgeous and the landscape is magnificent, one indeed feels like on an other planet.
Here again you show us wonderful example of this amazing landscape with a pleasant light and the road winding its way in to the frame it is just a great composition.
So, thanks again for your wonderful series on Iceland.
trés bonne semaine

On my one trip to Iceland, we drove out to the Blue Lagoon, which is on volcanic plains strewn with rocks but otherwise fairly barren. It was an overcast day, and it really did feel like we were driving on the moon. This has a different alien world feel to it, but definitely something spectacular. Great depth and scope here, and I like how the road almost continues in the rivulets of water coming down off the rock.

Olivier

Hi Olivier
a stunning and desolate landscape, which you have captured the very essence of in this magnificent shot. Superb quality, with sharp detailing, gorgeous colours and textures, and amazing light management make this so beautiful and attractive. Love it!
Regards - Brian.

Bonjour Olivier,
wow, this is a jaw-dropping landscape and so perfectly presented. I like the s-shape of the road in the foreground. The depth of the field, and sharpness make it feel so clear so three dimensional.
Excellent effect!

Olivier,
