Photographer's Note

Sunset near Lanmannalaugar in Southern Iceland. The pattern in the foreground are potholes filled with water after a nasty shower. Here teh relatively wide angle of my walkaround lens came in handy. Although a wide-angle proper might have worked better, I think this is OK.

This is a very special landscape!
I like the view of that particular colors on the backward mountain, its reflection on the water, and that round shapes of water at foreclose.

Hello Mikkel,

I like the sophisticated simplicity of the crop, very effective. A very original view of Lanmannaulaugar, with the repetition of the round water pools, the reflections in the water and the special light of the "blue hour". The variations in the beautiful colours are very subtle yet contrasted, and the overall impression is of great clarity and peacefulness.

Hi Mikkel,
I really like the creative approach that your taken on this composition. Many would have not seen this opportunity for a great shot, except perhaps an astute photographer, such as yourself. The scene is also strenghted by the reflection of the top of the mountain in the larger puddle.

I agree it is fine. This rounded shapes remind me to the old sci-fi movies where we landed in foreign planets .... Definitely unique image.

An original take on a otherwise common scene makes this a stand out shot. The clouds balance the polka dot pattern in the foreground. Creative!
