Day 8 - Landmannahellir - Landmannalaugar
A view on Brennisteinsalda, a 855 metres height volcano surrounding Laugarhraun lava field in Landmannalaugar. Its icelandic name means « sulphur wave », which comes from the sulphur spots on its sides (you can see some in the foreground). This mountain is one of the most colourful in Iceland : red from iron, yellow from sulphur, blue and black of lave and ashes, green from mosses, etc... A famous hiking trail passes by the volcano : it is named Laugavegur, the « route of hot springs ». It is 55 kilometres long from Þórsmörk, between Tindfjallajökull and Eyjafjallajökull glaciers in the south of Iceland (the last one hosts the volcano that put disorder in air traffic in Europe in 2010) to Landmannalaugar. The route is typically completed over 4 days and is noted for its wide variety of landscapes. Topography of the route is not very hard, but unstable weather conditions in Iceland can make the trek difficult !

Les couleurs de ces roches volcaniques sont vraiment irréelles. Le petit groupe de personnes donne une idée de la grandeur de ce volcan. Un paysage vraiment impressionnant que tu as très bien mis en image.
