Photographer’s Note
The Faxi waterfall is located on the Golden Circle, east of Reykjavik, and is somewhat off the beaten track, being at the end of a gravel track - but well worth finding, with a picnic area and a tremendous view down to the falls and the river, together with the fascinating man-made salmon ladder just adjacent. The waterfall is located on the Tungufljót river.
This was taken approaching dusk in an early winter, but the low level of light doesn't prevent the majestic mountains being seen stretching away to the horizon.
