The captial of Iceland. This is the view from the top of the Hallgrímskirkja church. Sadly the weather wasn't good the day I was up there - but still - the different colors are good visible.
101 is the zip code for Reykjavik's town center, the oldest part of town, this part of town is home to Iceland's cultural elite.
As some critiques questioned: Yes, I used Macromedia(=Adobe) Fireworks 8 to add saturation, maybe a bit overdone (need to calibrate my screen the next time)

Hi Cedric, looks like you've got some spare time this weekend ;-) I love the two shots you've posted!
Here you could try to brighten the shadows a bit, however the dullnes nicely contrasts with the colorful houses.

C'est superbe ces couleurs des immeubles. La lumière est magnifique. A voir toutes ces beautés de l'Islande on a vraiment envie de s'y rendre. Merci pour le partage. Gérard

A great shot looking down on the city, Cedric. The different colours of the roofs are amazing. They are bright even though it is a dull day.

Wow! Very good colors of Reykjavik, this magnific place. I'd like to visit it someday. From this angle, the houses look like toys. Great view!

even it is taken on june, it looks very cold weather or rainy... colors and lights are well present but it looks as you got more color by post processing ?
Anyway, it is an interesting picture for those as me would like to discover this city.
thanks to post it.

Great composition and view of Reykjavik.
Did you do any PS with the saturation of the colors? Reds blues and greens look a bit too saturated.
TFS - Shir.

I have linked this photo to a photo of mine of the same view as I believe the earth's curvature is clearly visible in both. Your photo was taken in a long summer evening whereas mine was 6 months earlier in in the short hours of winter. Your day is overcast and mine is bright with the low sun. The colours are so different. I like the dark effect and saturated colours - they reflect this unique location. Tfs, Marlene
