Reykjavik, April 2013. The Harpa Concert Hall is an architecturally outstanding super modern building. I took only one photo inside the concert hall, as it was very cloudy and gray that day.
"Harpa is a concert hall and conference centre in Reykjavík, Iceland. The opening concert was held on May 4, 2011.
Harpa was designed by the Danish firm Henning Larsen Architects in co-operation with Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson. The structure consists of a steel framework clad with geometric shaped glass panels of different colours. The building was originally part of a redevelopment of the Austurhöfn area dubbed World Trade Center Reykjavík, which was partially abandoned when the financial crisis took hold. The development was intended to include a 400-room hotel, luxury apartments, retail units, restaurants, a car park and the new headquarters of Icelandic bank Landsbanki.
The completion of the structure was uncertain until the government decided in 2008 to fully fund the rest of the construction costs for the half-built concert hall. The building was given its name on the Day of Icelandic Music on 11 December 2009, prior to which it was called The Reykjavík Concert Hall and Conference Centre (Icelandic: Tónlistar- og ráđstefnuhúsiđ í Reykjavík). The building is the first purpose-built concert hall in Reykjavík. It houses the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and The Icelandic Opera.
Harpa is operated by Portus, a company owned by the Icelandic government and the City of Reykjavík....." (Wikipedia.org)

Just taking one photo in a place, that sounds like the old days of expensive films. From this photo we cannot see that the weather was not so good. Capturing a huge building like this in one photo is not easy, but it gives us an idea of its complicated structure and various materials used. The persons looking down at us make us understand the size of this place.

Fine composition with so many geometric shapes and angles. The scale of the building well demonstrated by the pov as well as the people in the tiers. Perfect black & white. Thanks for sharing.

I remember this building too.
on the inside it looks like your standing inside a bee's nest in the honeycomb :)
and we can see pieces of that here in your shot at the top. nice to have the people in it too.
fun architectural photo.

An extraordinary beautiful and impressive architecture! You have also taken a very good picture that makes justice to this special building. Interesting lines here and the included persons bring the sizes into a context.

Good bl/w architecture picture, made better by the inclusion of the people on the balcony.
Have a fine weekend.

Your solo photo of this impressive interior is very good indeed. Black and white emphasises the already strong graphical lines of the architecture, whilst the people gazing down offer a real sense of scale.

Une trčs beau cadrage vertical qui donne une trčs bonne idée de l'ampleur de cet immeuble trčs moderne.Le verre laisse entrer beaucoup de lumičre dans cet espace. Le noir et blanc donne un petit côté documentaire intéressant.

Great mono work wonderfully balanced compo, the pov is a super attention grabber, giving a great feeling of looking up, lead by very strong and effective diagonal leading lines. Lots of shadows and reflections from glass panels and the small figures are there seem to be a connection giving some ideas of scale and depth. Great pp treatment, don't know how you have achieved almost a metallic look to the image but is just perfect for the subject. Another superbly observed, composed and beautifully captured mono image, Congrats

Realized sometime ago this is a beautifully architected edifice, Wolfgang, saw it on TE.
Fantastic height indoor's superbly collected, B&W by choice due to variable light there, apperently a good decision.
the presence of people up on the highset level, gave excelent scale to comprehend the whole.
Fine taken shot, impressive edifice.
