Photographer's Note

Playing with shapes, reflections, and colors at Harpa, Reykjavik's Concert Hall, is irresistible.

Harpa was designed by the Danish firm Henning Larsen Architects in co-operation with Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson. The structure consists of a steel framework clad with geometric shaped glass panels of different colours. The building was originally part of a larger redevelopment in Reykjavík, the rest of which was partially abandoned when the Icelandic financial crisis happened. (wikipedia)

Fortunately, the Icelandic government made what was at the time a controversial decision to fully fund the rest of the construction costs for the half-built concert hall. And now visitors and Icelanders can enjoy the results.

I'm posting this shot this morning ~ it's near the end of August and after a long, hot summer, I'm looking forward to boots, jeans & Lopapeysa weather :)
