So, now I finally got the time to post the first picture from my third trip to Iceland.
I am hopelessly and definitly in love with that amazing island.
This is outside the geothermic lake / spa / bath the Blue Lagoon (Bláa Ionid) at Reykjanes.
The whole Reykjanes area is lava fields and old volcanoes and in the middle the geothermic lake.
The water is turqouise and where swimming is allowed between 37 and 40 degrees hot, a lerge part of the lake is even warmer but there are too dangerous to take a swim.
Blue Lagoon geothermal spa is one of Iceland's most unique and popular attractions. The Blue Lagoon's market share in the Icelandic tourism market is 70% on an annual basis. This unique destination is also very popular among Icelanders.
The water contains minerals, silica, algae and salt and can help cure skin problems such as psoriasis, acne and so on.
Blue Lagoon products, made from the clay on the bottom of the lake or the water, are avaliable to buy all over Iceland.
It was wonderful to just float around in the warm, beautiful lake after the flight. (We arrived 40 minutes before this was shot)

Post pro - increased saturation to bring out the natural colour of the water more, auto levels, contrast, unsharp mask, resized for TE.

Hi Frida, I've been looking forward to seeing your Iceland pictures for a while now, and it was worth the wait. Great color contrast and light in this view onto the thermal lake, and the composition with the water zig-zagging towards the back gives a good depth. The glistening effect of the light is very well rendered too. Thanks for sharing, and I hope you'll show us more soon ;-)

Fine picture Frida. Very good balance between the dark rocks and the milky lagoon. The info note is also excellent, very comprehensive. Keep it on Iceland.

Nice Rhiannon! Did you take a bath there?
Seems quite dangerous and the rocks really sharp.
Quite an uncommon landscape you offer us here.
Thanks for the informative note and the great picture.

Great perspective for this amazing scene ! Tones are very well balanced between this white water (it seems like milk !) and the darkness of the rocks. A POV very well choosen to render an astonshing place. Very well done !

Excelent sense of perspective with the wide lagoon getting thiner and eventually desapear through a zig-zag. The mountains also add to this feeling. the contrast of the strange coloured water with the stones is very interesting as well. Good note

Great landscape. I like the composition and the curves of the water that guides your eyes through the picture.
The water looks so clear and reflections are just a plus.

What a wonderful shot Frida! I like the low POV, the high horizon and the excellent managed contrast. A feeling of unreal, I like this mood in your shot, it's unusual and really wonderful. The lighting is also superb, it contribute to convey a feeling of being somewhere else than on earth. Thanks for sharing!

What a great picture. I think the angle is excellent...it is nice to see the Blue Lagoon waters from an angle that does not include the plant, viewing center, etc. It ties it very closely to the weird but gorgeous Icelandic landscape.
