Photographer’s Note
Here's the region of Kjölur, Iceland. The area is a geothermal hot spot similar to Geysir or Krafla. It is also a base camp for those hikers brave enough to go up against the rugged inside country. This shot here shows the barren ground that covers most of the inside country and even though there is grass in this location, don't go thinking that this is the case all over the inside country; this is the only green area for miles upon miles upon miles, elsewhere being rocks and ash.
The glacier at the back is Hofsjökull.
