Maybe this picture could fit better in Treknature, but as the arctic puffin is in fact an iceland icone is for that reason i've decided to share this image with the Trekearth community.
I used a long focal (200mm) and I aproached to the puffin as close as i could, been wary of not falling from the cliff. |

What a beautiful capture of an oh so photogenic puffin! So sharp, the colours are perfect. I've been to Iceland myself, a country full of beauty, and I have seen a couple of puffins too, but haven't been able to photograph them in such a wonderful way. Well done!
Hola Ricard,
Bonita ave muy bien captada con excelentes colores y contrastes sobre ese fondo grisáceo.
Saludos,
Mirari
Hi, you are so lucky to see these birds, they are beautiful! Well captured, good colours and sharpness. TFS, Jean
Hi Ricard,
A classic but very well-executed shot of this beautiful Iceland icon. Everything looks very sharp and the low viewpoint against the cliff-edge makes the puffin really stand out from the grey background. I can imagine you crawling through the grass towards the cliff to get this! I think your 80-200 lens performed well here.
I have a few similar shots but taken in Latrabjarg in the Western Fjords area. I only had a 105 mm lens and at Vik we couldn't get close enough.
