Photographer’s Note
This is the beautiful beach of Vík. This picture is taken two yers later at my second visit to Iceland. This is in the morning, just when the sun is about to rise.
I have done nothing to the colours - they really were that blue!
I have just rotated the picture, there was a tilt, reduced some fingerprints and dust, I made it smaller and unsharp mask to compensate it. Then I cropped it in the bottom, before half the picture was beach - half sky.
I have developed it myself, from negative to paperprint.

An overall calm and serene mood. Interesting play with the horizon that mirrors the sea in the clouds. From the right the viewer is being pulled into your shot ending at the rock (or mountain) on the left, perhaps a pity that the end stop is such a small percentage compared to the rest of the frame, I am not sure, could be just me...

Nice blue tones and I like the completely black beach. Maybe you could have left a little more of the beach in the photo but it´s hard to know without having seen the original. The coarse-grained character adds to the the cold and rugged feeling of the picture, as do the waves. It is nice with a big part of the picture being sky (especially beacause of the toning), but it also makes the perspective feel slightly tilted in my eyes. Framkallat själv? Isf mkt imponerande.

Wonderfull picture. I love the contrast of the bright blue skies and the black beach. My only sugestion would be to make it a horizontal composition, starting from the same point on the left of the image, allowing to include more ocean on the right (I hope I was clear enough). I would have tried at least. But maybe you did the "right" composition on this one. I like it very much.
