Following my previous post on Lakagigar here, this shot shows the volcanic fissure on the other side of the Laki volcano. In the background, under the rain, we can see the Vatnajökull glacier, the third larger glacier in the world behind nothern and southern ice caps.
Unfortunately, on this photo, I couldn't integrate something showing the scale as on the other one :(

nice dramatic colors as in the previous one, ilike the drastic change in color from the foreground to the background.

Très belle photo prise d'un point de vue exceptionnel. L'alignement des volcans est superbe et l'on perçoit bien grâce à cela que l'Islande est un "point chaud" volcanique.

Jean I was looking in the pan folder and I found your gallery. You have some outstanding captures in the outdoor world. Amazing work here. Happy New Year!

Hi Jean Luc - simply superb, perfect timing with the weather, this light nicely complements the volcanic setting.

magifique photo, superbe lumiere sur cet étrange paysage. On se dit qu'il doit falloir etre rapide pour capter ce genre d'instant dans ce pays.

Very dramatic, recently watched a documentary on BBC about this place, the KIller Cloud, which started here and what happened in 1783 and the impact it had on Europe at that time. I'm very impressed.

Amazing place Jean, and an amazing shot indeed. Perfect seazon, well lit, the set of colours is what I like the most here after the beauty of the Laki of course.
Very good one,
