View to the northwest over Skjálfandi Bay with Kinnarfjöll moutains (up to 1200 m high) in the background. A small house south of Kaldbakur gives a sense of isolation and of primeval undisturbed nature.
This place is just a few km south of Húsavík on the north coast of Iceland. Húsavík was in the past an important whale hunting centre, but now it has fortunately re-oriented towards whale watching (for tourists). There is also an awe-inspiring Whale Centre in the town. River Laxá (flowing from Mývatn), famous for its salmon, empties into the sea at Skjálfandi Bay.

You're right about the sense of isolation and primeval nature. I love shots of Iceland. Those mountains look so barren, empty and remote. I think the composition would be better with the house off to one side a little, Kristof.

Beautiful soft green color go well with the blue and gray of the background.
