Photographer’s Note
Husavik is a fishermen harbor in Northern Iceland. It is well known by whales showing up close enough to the cost, to make it a turist business. It is a special feeling when you hear the whale to rub its skin by the boat's keel. This special feeling overcomes to shivering when the boatsman tells you, that the whale is about 4 to 5 times bigger than the boat you are at.

This picture presents a true feeling of Icelandic culture, a very 'non-touristy' prsentation. The old ship with the Iclandic name, very nicely done.

Hello Michael,
You were lucky... I was there few months ago, and I didn't see such as this big whale...
The photo is just excellent - framing and composition... Well done,

Very interesting picture, with both the boat and the whale taken at the right moment. I'm wondering if it is common to see such big whales near Husavik or if you have witnessed something rare like Peck says ...
