Photographer’s Note

... a new picture of Iceland ... during our last measurement campaign ... here is my friend, Pierre, measuring the displacements of the ground with a GPS station ... to study the response of the lithosphere after the big volcanic crisis of Krafla in the begining of the 80' years.

... the light was here too ;) as always in Iceland ...

and as often, i've used a ND grad filter to give details in the foreground ... 24mm to have the entire scene ... and Velvia film, because it's the best ;)

Incroyable! tout y est, le décors, les couleurs, la position du géologue, l'arc-en-ciel...magnifique! Mis à part le bruit que l'on perçoit dans le ciel, j'adore cette photo!

Ahh, the worker and the rock are positioned just right. And the colors of the jacket mirrored in the rainbow. And the rainbow even frames the forground elements perfectly. Great focus, composition, lighting.

Impressionnant!!! Le géologue semble travailler dans un monde futuriste sur une planète inconnue à proximité d'un dome de verre délimité par un arc-en-ciel.

L'effet du filtre ND grad a fait apparaître entre autres, un dome en trois dimmensions ou presque. (Jean-Pierre)

Hey Antoine, this woudl be a good photo without the rainbow, but with it, it is something special. Brilliant framing with your friend balancing out the photo with the rocks. Its a touch noisy in the sky, but thats easily fixed, neat image or uSM woudl do the trick.

Good light, I always find rainbow pics great because the sky is usually so moody but you also have this brilliant light eminating from behind, always amazes me. Ive never been lucky enoguh to be able to photograph a rainbow, but heres hoping!
