Photographer’s Note
Akureyri church was consecrated on 1940, November, 17. The architect was Gudjon Samuelsson. Church services are held every Sunday at 11AM and sometimes in the summer at 8AM. Praying hours on Thursdays at 12PM.
Since the summer of 1999 the music concerts are being held under the festival´s name Summerconcerts in Akureyri Church. 5 concerts are being played in July and first weekend of August.
This is one of the most architecturally interesting buildings in Iceland. Some of stained glass are brought from Coventry Cathedral. The interior is decorated with a sailing-ship model in sign of traditionally hazardous occupation of fishermens at northern countries, who mainly praied here.
Hope you'll enjoy the picture and have a nice weekend.

Hello Denis,
I appreciate the architecture, the clean lines work so well in this surroundings!
You do well in the choice of POV, letting you include the stairs in the composition...
Great details and good clarity in colours!
Greetings,
Pablo -
