Old volcano Photo | TrekEarth

Photographer’s Note

On the way back from Lake Myvatn to Akureyri, at the end of a bad weather day, the latest sun rays illuminate an old volcano.
In Iceland, it's not difficult to say "this hill is a volcano" or "this mountain is a volcano", indeed everything is a volcano !

The evening light has really illuminated the form of this mountain and the cloud formations are really interesting and dramatic. Wonderful capture - great work!

Incroyable photo aux couleurs magnifiques. La formation nuageuse n’a rien de banale et crée un ensemble surréaliste avec le volcan. Vraiment superbe!

Bonjour Jean luc,
tu fais partie des photographes qui me donnent de plus en plus envie de visiter ces terres hostiles mais superbes, presque vierges.
Le moment choisi est sensationnel, tant pour la lumière qui se dépose sur le volcan, que pour le nuage qui le plombe.
Excellent cadrage et POV.

Elle est très réussi cette photo de volcan bouclier Islandais. J'ai oublié son nom mais je vois très bien où il se trouve. Tu as bénéficié d'un ciel fantastique. Bravo.

Ah voici encore une histoire de jolie lumière. Je suis très surpris de constater que beaucoup de photos sont liées à des phénomèes fugaces. Magnifique photo de ce volcan coiffé sous les projecteurs.

What an absolutely wonderful capture of that powerful landscape!
The FG is a wonderful succession of various layers of green and then there are those cars, giving an absolutely magnificent scale to the overall thing.
The picture was indeed taken at the right moment, with just the right light. It gives these ancient hills majesty and beauty beyond all words!

What a beautiful photo!

Clouds remind me of a nuclear explosion and the fact that the sun falls on just the right place is incredible!
It's great you had a nice blue sky in the back to add contrast to the red volcano.
