The small lake alongside road 94 in the mountain pass between FljˇtsdalshÚra Valley and Borgarfj÷rur Eystri (Bakkageri ). The captured view is looking back through rain clouds towards FljˇtsdalshÚra Valley and distant snow covered mountains. A stream falls from the far side of the lake. The challenge for presentation of this image was to enhance the hint of structural detail, just visible through the rain clouds, of the distant valley and mountain range. The title reflects that which prompted me to take the image.

Almost incredible that a big Lake on these height, very nice taken with the small wrinkles on the water.
But you did very well with excellent sharpness and clarity, only the dark part gives extra contrast.
Nice panorama picture with bright colours
Very well done, TFS

Iceland would seem to be a land of dramatic scenery and inhospitable weather:-) I like the nuances of tone and the various shapes of the different elements; the title suits perfectly. Excellent management of the available light.

Hello Trevor - The mood of the landscape is clearly presented in this minimal shot. I have a fondness for simple landscapes where one can really 'see' the atmosphere created by colour, tone, texture and composition.
Here the breeze ruffles the water and mist envelopes the scene with dampness. At first glance an inhospitable scene but on closer examination one where the beauty of nature comes to the fore.
A wonderfully evocative photograph

Fine capture of this mountain lake. Very similar to a glacier one here in my area.
Have a good week.

I like the way this image uses shapes. It's not just a capture of the scene which is dramatic enough in and of itself but also when you look at the image from a distance it is the giant "splodge" shape of the lake surrounded by the curve of the sky and mountain and the light foreground that give this an underlying abstract quality. I like it.

Wonderful composition, simple and effective. I especially like the graphic shape of the sky and the lake look like an oyster shell...
BTW, thank you very much for your workshop uploading. Yes, you are right, part of the pier was too dark.
