Photographer's Note

Glacier river lagoon, known as Jökulsárlón spanning the flatland between the nose of Breiđamerkurjökull glacier and the sea formed after 1940 when the glacier began with fast shrinking. Many "small" ice cubes calved from the front of the glacier and consequently float around the lake. But some of them are large enough to actually not float, but just sit on the lagoon bottom.

The colour that is observed when sun light is penetrating through the pure ice blocks is sparkingly blue and magical indeed.
