Photographer's Note
Day 4 : Vik - Jökulsárlón
A farm in Hali along the road 1 to Höfn. This small village sits between Vatnajökull glacier and the ocean. It hosts a museum about icelandic writer Thorbergur Thordarson and offers a few accomodation. It is the nearest village from famous Jökulsarlon glacier lake (about 15 minutes by car). So if you want to take pictures at Jökulsarlon at dawn or at sunset it is the best place you can find !
Our group of photographers stayed one night in a farmesrs guesthouse in Hali. Before going to Jökulsarlon in the evening, we had time for ourselves. Some snoozed, others (including me) took pictures in the village. There was a strange atmosphere, something strange in the air, probably because of sand storms on the horizon that made the light quite particular. I really loved this place, the wonderful scenery and this strange atmosphere !

Hi Oliver.
Great to see a picture from one of my top 5 favorite countries! And it's a good picture of a typical scene from the vast and desolate Iceland. Maybe I would prefer including the mountain top, but apart from that I have nothing to say. TFS.
Have a nice day,
Fredrik

Hi Olivier
good for you to get out there and take at least a few more photos, it really paid off well for you.
The way its composed, it seems as if the end of the world is just beyond the curve on the right.

Bonjour Olivier,

Good morning Olivier,
nice the view of this farm with the mountain range above, to make the place so attractive and unique.
The red roofs of the barns contrast perfect with the green of the land making the image so effective.
Have a good day,Danos

Hello Olivier.
I love these huge landscapes of Iceland, the massive steep mountains climbing from the broad plains. In this one, the viewpoint is superbly chosen to give us the curving road and the highlights of the white shapes and fence posts. You've really captured well the great upward sweep of the mountains and the beautiful summer light. I can imagine the strange atmosphere you experience. Good note, too!
Regards,
Andrew

Bonjour Olivier ,
La composition est excellente , pour nous montrer cette belle ferme ausx pieds de superbes falaises . Un relief volcanique comme on peut trouver aux Canaries , au Cap-Vert ou à Madère .

Outstanding shot with some incredible scenery, Olivier. There's something about glacially carved landscapes that creates amazing drama, and this is a perfect example. I really like the red of these buildings against the surroundings and the light, which is absolutely wonderful - you were right to try to capture it.

Bonjour Olivier,
Une jolie ferme aux toits rouges, devant un décor de rêve. En Islande, c'est déjà presque une ville :-).
Belle composition et lumière très bien gérée.

Hello Oliver
This picture is very striking with the red roofs and bright white packaging, but also with an air of mystery as I want to see what is beyond the slope downwards.
The light on the posts in a lovely curve leads my eye right into the picture.
Wonderful!
Best Wishes
Gladys.
