Dear TE friends,
In this panorama the following 4 important sightseeings can be seen:

1.Chain Bridge (Lánchíd)
The Chain Bridge is Budapest's premier bridge both in terms of its age and its fame. It was only the second permanent bridge to be constructed over the entire length of the Danube. At the instigation of István Széchenyi, it was built by Adam Clark between 1839-1849, based on the plans of W. T. Clark. Its cast iron decorations and a structure that radiates calm dignity and harmony raise it to the ranks of the most beautiful examples of industrial heritage in Europe. The four lion statues at the two bridge-heads are the work of János Marschalkó; they date from 1852. The Chain Bridge was a world sensation in its day and had only one match in London. Not surprising given the design is also English. These facts all serve to make the Chain Bridge a national symbol: a symbol of progress, of national awakening, of connecting the East and the West. It is not only respected, but also well loved in Budapest. The birthday celebration, slowly becoming a tradition, is a manifestation of this love. The event was first held in 1999 on the 150th anniversary of the Bridge's inauguration.

2.Gresham Palace (Gresham Palota) –opposite of the Chain Bridge
The seat of the former Gresham Insurance Company is among the most splendid palaces in Budapest, a masterpiece of Hungarian secession style. This palace, built to the plans of Zsigmond Quittner and József Vágó in 1907, has been refurbished as a luxury hotel. One of the largest apartment buildings in the Budapest of its day it covered 12,000 square meter. Its three staircases opened from a glass-covered passage, and its unique tiles were made in the Zsolnay Ceramics Factory. Its shopping arcade is an architectural rarity as it is the oldest intact covered shopping street in Budapest.

3.Hungarian Academy of Sciences (Magyar Tudományos Akadémia) –On the left side
The impressing triple facade palace on Roosevelt Square next to the Chain Bridge (Lánchíd) is a two-story, neo-Renaissance building. It is a stately construction to the last detail. The character of the facade is neo-renaissance, but these typical architectural features are even more marked in the vestibule and the staircase.

4.St Stephen´s Basilica (Szent István-bazilika) –behind the Gresham Palace
The largest church in Budapest and the second most important in Hungary is St Stephen's Basilica. It was built by Jozsef Hild, Miklós Ybl and József Kauser in a neo-Renaissance-Classicist style. The mummified right hand of Hungary's first Christian ruler King Stephen the Saint's (István I) is kept here. St. Stephen's Basilica was built on a Greek cross plan. The interior space is in nine parts; the central section is covered by the dome, the nave by a barrel-vault. Leo Fessler created the sculptures decorating the facade tympanum and the niches in the towers, and the sanctuary, as well as the exterior sculptural ornaments of the cupola.

One of the most generally known places of Budapest the iron bridge about the river.

Szia George,
seems you had also a beautiful September there. Nice view with the inclusion of the visitors and the clarity over the Danube is very fine. Even not seeing their faces, but I think they are also impressed by that view.
