Photographer’s Note

this is a detail from budapest parliament building. the most interesting part of it is that all materials used in it are from hungarian ground except for two marble columns given by swedish king as a token of good will. however hungarians had to produce imitate marble for the rest of the columns because they didnt have marble resources. this actually cost them a few times more than just buying the marble, however the idea behind is to be appreciated: national pride.
this specific detail is a gilded arch from main hall.
