One in a short series of pictures taken on a visit to Budapest in March 2002.
Some information from Wikipedea:
The Széchenyi Chain Bridge is a suspension bridge that spans the River Danube between Buda and Pest, the western and eastern sides of Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Designed by the English engineer William Tierney Clark, it was the first permanent bridge across the Danube in Budapest, and was opened in 1849. It is the oldest permanent bridge on the Danube.
It is anchored on the Pest side of the river to Széchenyi (formerly Roosevelt) Square, adjacent to the Gresham Palace and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and on the Buda side to Adam Clark Square, near the Zero Kilometer Stone and the lower end of the Castle Hill Funicular, leading to Buda Castle.
The bridge has the name of István Széchenyi, a major supporter of its construction, but is most commonly known as the Chain Bridge. At the time of its construction, it was regarded as one of the modern world's engineering wonders. It has asserted an enormous significance in the country's economic, social and cultural life, much as the Brooklyn Bridge has in New York and the United States of America.

perfetta la diagonale del ponte che taglia l'inquadratura verticale, belli i dettagli architettonici.
Mi piace anche la presenza dei rami dell'albero, sembra proprio di essere li ad osservare in prima persona.

In background see we nice the statue with a clear sharpness.
You took these bridge out of a very nice angle this gives depth and perspective, I like this type of architecture, very nice.
Excellent presentation, colour and sharpness are perfect.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,

Hello Stephen. Today you show the famous Chain Bridge. The viewing angle from above is completely new and individually. And as always - excellent informative text for TE.

what a shot! Lovely bridge and you presented it here with great depth and sharpness. I like how you composed it using the diagonal. Excellent framing with apt light and fine colours. An excellent work. Tfs.

The most impressive bridge in Budapest, Stephen, and taken from a known location.
Besides the big chains, there are four "guarding" lions statues - two on each side opf the Danube.
one is shown here. Also, we crossed this bridge on a relatively nice weather day - and the feel while doing this, with light wind and aware of the strong currents under, give a sense how wide the river is.
Fine shot, good memories brought from 5/2007 visit.
Enjoy your weekend,

Salut cher Stephen
An outstanding POV of this beautiful bridge. I love the vertical frame and the diagonal lines created by the way you composed the shot. Excellent colours and contrasts, and the partial obscuring by the trees gives us that spectator effect that I love.
Warmest wishes, thanks for sharing

a superb POV that gives us a wonderfully sharp view of this amazing bridge, and also an idea of its scale and setting. It looks magnificent from this particular angle. Excellent image.
Enjoy your weekend - B.
Another storm smashed the coast here last night, I think it was the most frightening yet. B.

Ciao e buon fine settimana

A very fine view over this impressive bridge. The bridge is well placed inside the frame and provides an excellent diagonal. Interesting note too.

its too bad all those twigs and branches are in the way, perhaps in the autumn it would look prettier?
i still enjoy the actual bridge view though, its one of the world most photographed bridges.
good to see it on a bit of an angle too.
so where did you take the photo from? is there a road here? a lookout point for photographers? just curious.

Hi Stephen, A beautiful view of this Chain Bridge from above. Great light and clarity with nice composition. The length of the bridge adds to the depth of the frame. The tree branches in the FG framed the composition just fine. Thank for sharing

Très belle vue en plongée sur ce vieux pont suspendu. Belle lumière qui permet d'en apprécier les détails. Note intéressante. Bien fait.

La longueur du pont donne de la profondeur à l'image. La prise de vue permet de distinguer les détails et les couleurs de l'architecture du pont. La lumière a un bel effet sur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

A good downward pov on this iconic landmark bridge in Budapest. Good sharpness and the lack of leaves has helped rather than hindered. The diagonal axis of the bridge adds dynamism. Effective tight framing and tfs!

Interesting dominant point of view on the bridge
Very nice lights ambiance
A suggestion: it's possible to crop a part of the foreground and a little part of the top yo give more interest to the bridge

First of all I glad to see the capital without traffic. Excellent choice of the point of view, fine diagonal composition, perfect details of the spring city. Thanks for so informative note about this bridge.

you found a great point of view for this photo and really made the most of it. There's wonderful sense of depth and height and the perspective is irresistible. It's great how the bridge extends along the whole of the vertical frame and the view we have is so close. There are fine details on the bridge and in the rest of the scenery, the textures and the colours are shown with great definition and naturalness. The light has a very pleasant warmth. It's amazing that all the passing cars are white:) Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
