Photographer’s Note
Szechenyi Medicinal Baths are situated in the middle of City Park in Budapest. Its thermal springs were discovered in 1879 and these neo-baroque style baths were built in 1913. As well as being the largest medicinal baths in Budapest they are also the deepest and warmest thermal wells in Budapest. They are a vast complex of indoor and outdoor pools and are popular with the locals as well as visiting tourists.

Hi Marlene,
A good composition with this elliptic pool against all the vertical and parallel pillars. I like the soft colours and all the people. There is really a very pleasant atmosphere here!
Kind regards

This is a wonderful site in the middle of a big town as Budapest is. It must be a real pleasure during the cold winter days! I have been in thermal pools in NZ and it was fantastic.
The picture is excellent and show well the lovely pools being used by people of all ages. Well done.

A photo that brings back souvenirs: Colourful and crowded and...typical HUngarian. I visited this place in the early seventies when Hungary was still behind the Iron Curtain.
Thank you for sharing.

Dag Marlene,
A great sunny ambiance that evokes memories of the “fin de siècle” with the description of visits of the upper class to this kind of resorts. An scene, for example you can find in the film “Death in Venice”

Hello Marlene,
There is something about thse colours that I like very much. A pastel tone, once again slightly desaturated, that gives the picture a somewhat old-fashioned flavour that suits the building very well. This is a photo with a very strong Central European atmosphere.
Thanks for sharing,

Hello again, Marlene,
as compared to one of your previously posted photos (WWII Oil Storage Tunnels) this view is filled with so much sunshine and fresh air that one can get blind looking at it :) Excellent capture of a sunny day and interesting architecture! Very good composition, very good mood :)

marlene
interesting place, it is a nice way to spend some hours in "a beach" in a country without seashore. nice mix of people and architecture, nice light, pov, framing and colors. in my region people use the thermal baths more for fun than to cure something, I guess in Europe things are a little more different.

Marlene, I am really glad seeing, you uploaded a lovely full-of-life photo of Budapest, the city where I live. This photo is a good pastiche of real life scenes and attractive tourist brochure pics.
Have a nice weekend! I might have chosen another framing (maybe red or blue) but I like it in this way also.
BR, Jalab
PS.:Tomorrow I am going to this bath!
