Photographer’s Note

Two young girls talk on their cellphones at the Vaci Utca shopping street, Budapest.

Budapest is full of life and beat, mainly due to the young generation that keeps the city at the front of fashion and technology. I think that this is one of the reasons why I loved Budapest: It had it's classic charm of it's history (pre and post communist) as well as it's dynamic and night life which was surprisingly good!

Hello Chen,

A very nice colourful combination here!
What happened to the left girl? Motion? The head is a bit blurred and the background sharpness is a bit too much. Next to that, I like the compo!

Definitely a typical moment for girls around the world, Chen, but special because it's caught at the ideal instant. It's clear that each is absorbed in a separate world of conversation, though they sit together. Their colorful clothing, colorful hair and colorful smiles stand out against the plain gray background. A pretty and simple candid shot! I like the uncluttered background of this shot; and the contrast in colours the girl on the right was wearing - good for the photographer at least.
