Photographer’s Note
The vivid colour house stands in the old city kind of hiding at the foot of the castle hill. There can a baroque statue of Nepomuk Saint John be seen that was stood by the wish of the bishop in 1740. The statue originally got located out of the city on a rock free but as time passed by the city so did the house grew the statue around.
John of Nepomuk or John Nepomucene (Czech: Jan Nepomucký) (c.1345 – March 20, 1393) is a national saint of Bohemia, drowned in river Vltava at the behest of Wenceslaus, King of the Romans and King of Bohemia. Later accounts state that he was the confessor of the queen of Bohemia and refused to divulge the secrets of the confessional. On the basis of this account, John of Nepomuk is considered the first martyr of the Seal of the Confessional, a patron against calumnies and, because of the manner of his death, a protector from floods.
Veszprém
Also known as the town of queen consorts, Veszprém is built on seven hills. Its historical and architectural heritage stretches back to the Hungarian Settlement and the town is the intellectual and economic centre of its region.
Veszprém lies on the borders of two geographical regions: the Balaton Uplands (Balaton-felvidék) and the Bakony Hills. The River Séd carved deep valleys into the terrain here, hence Veszprém's other name: 'the town built on seven hills' - each with its own name.
The town is also known as the town of queen consorts, which began with Gisella, St Stephen's wife. The establishment of Hungary's first and oldest cathedral is connected to her name. The bishops of Veszprém had the privilege of crowning the queen consorts, and they wore the office of the chancellery of queen consorts. The town nurtures fond memories of Gisella: the arts and science festival of the Gisella Days begin on her name day each year in May.

George, another interestinf shot from thei beautiful city. It is hard to see for sure but it seems that behind the statue the bricks are showing through the stucco. The yellow of the building is very comfortable, whether a spring afternoon or a winter one it seems that it would be warm and comfortable against that wall.
