I have to do my own critique here.. I wish that I would have moved right a bit when I took the photo...but I didn't see the top of the church from the view finder. Having failed two attempts, I was aboout to leave..When I looked at it yesterday, I still liked the sign, brightened it a bit up, and I wonder if I could hang it up here, hope that you like it as well..Have a nice day, everybody.:-)
Update: Followed by Miro's(mirosu) critique.
This was my third try, I thought that I was taking a photo of a dark object againist the bright sky, so I'd better bracket it. I wanted to includ the building in it, but they were too far away, the photo didn't look nice. I tried the sign only, it looked a bit bare, and lost the sense of location. Having failed two attempts, I thoguht:'Forget about it'.. I set the camera back to single and about to leave.. but still felt something was missing , so I looked back, zoomed in, shifted toward right a bit,( not enough, obviously) and gave a quick snap before I wondered off... When I looked at it yesterday, I still liked the sign, but I was 'irritated' by the top of the church that was too close to the sign, when I could see it clearly on the computer, but the view finder. I tried to drag the sign towards left on PS, but left a messy sky to repair.. so I had to leave it as it is...Any idea how could I fix it? Do let me know ,please. My PS skill is not up there yet:-D Thanks again.

l'idea è buona e la composizione è ben fatta, peccato la mancanza della luce, ma questo purtroppo non si può scegliere quando siamo di passaggio.

Hi Jasmine, IMO the composition is OK because the main subject in this photo is the hanging can with perfect exposition. Luckily the BG is slightly blured so it plays lesser role in your image composition. If you had exposed with deep DOF than I'd say you should make a small separation btw.the church tower and the hanging can. I like the nice sparation FG-BG.

I think it is an effective shot. The angle at which the jug hangs creates a slightly unsettling effect, entirely desired. I imagine, if you had shot this with a very small apperture (f/16 or f/22) you might have increased the depth of field, but there may not have been enough light in this overcast scene. You would have needed a tripod to get a time exposure.
I like the photo. Incidentally, with your earlier photo, "From the distance," I hung it among my 100 favorites. Thank you again for the dedication.

A great f/stop choice to blur the background and keep the focus on the sign. The photo is very good the way it is. Perhaps a little more separation between the steeple and the sign as you say, but it is pretty minor. I'm not quite sure you can really fix that in photoshop.

Fantastic depth of field, which works perfectly to highlight that interesting sign. Great work.

I like the way you've composed this image. Original outdoor advertising work. Well seen.
