"In the stillness of the cold
Evening sun drops below my eye
It knows, I need it's warmth,yet
Somewhere again it has to rise.
Embracing the light drops fallen
Naked sky waves her heart..
Deep in the horizon waits mist
Chilling, it's shades in love..
I touch it's colours in me
I rode from reality to dreams..
Ache's my heart to watch it again
Lovely winter in golden yellow.."


On the south shore of Lake Balaton mainly white wine is produced, but there is some red wine production as well. Lately the champagne produced here is considered to be the best in Hungary. The nearness of the lake, which is shallower here than on the northern shore, so it gets warm relatively fast, and creates a favourable microclimate, has a favourable influence on the vineyards of the hill slopes. Because of the nearness of Lake Balaton, the beauty of the land, the old country-seats and cellars this region is visited by a lot of people these days as well.
Area: 2820 hectares.
Climate: consolidated.
Vine varieties, wines: Italian Riesling, Yellow Muscat – fruit fragrance, rich in aroma, slightly acidic, elegant white wines. Chardonnay - fine, lively acidic, elegant. Cabernet, Merlot, Kékfrankos: - fine, velvety red wines

Hi Melinda,

beautiful capture with beautiful note. Marvelous sky colours, most warm with a path leading to this magnificent horizon. Illuminated, as an invitation to embrace this golden atmosphere, to touch the warmth at the end of the journey. So beautiful.

Dear Linda, I know it is a bit overused phrase but Somogy is the Hungarian Tuscany, and your photo is the proof, but to paraphrase it I think Tuscany is the Italian Somogy. Many thanks for this magic, Jalab

Szia ismet!
Hangulatos teli tajkep, kedves hely. Nagyon szeretem ezeket a kis foldutacskakat, a szolo ultetvenyeket, lankas tajakat. Amikor meglattam ezt a fotot, azt gondoltam, ez akar Pazmand is lehetne, ami meg az en szivem csucske. :)

Nice warm colours in your shot,how long open road to walk and walk and think...It really seems a good place to vineyards.I like the road going up,down,turning...,to finally vanish in the distance.Thanks for sharing and best regards.

draga Linda, te irtad ezt a verset, meghozza angolul? micsoda tehetseg. A kep is nagyon szep es meg a borokhoz is ertsz. megjegyzem az en kedvencem errol a videkrol a Badacsonyi Szurkebarat amit a kanadaiak mar nem hoznak be ugyhogy Magyarorszagra kell mennem venni.
