Photographer’s Note
This is Uj Utca, previously known as Street of the Jews, in the picturesque town of Sopron (pop. 56,000).
The tower back there is the landmark of the town, 61 meters high, known as Firetower (a watchman used to be there to spot fires).
Jews settled in the 9th century on this street. In 1944 there was a ghetto here.
There is a medieval synagogue built in the 1300s, which was rediscovered in the 1960s and restored... it's worth a visit.

Hi daniel
Good use of diminishing linear perspective in the composition, with a superb warm cold colour contrast between the amber facade of the building & the blue sky. Excellent sharpness, & a wonderful Easter to you!

Very nice shot taken from a good angle. I like the prominence that you've given the arch entrance. The tower in the distance provides a nice counterbalance to that magnificent archway.

Hello Daniel,
I paid a brief visit to Sopron 40 years ago. I remember it mainly as a pretty place, a bit empty, not much more. Judging from this picture it has probably seen considerable restoration in later years. You have found a fine perspective along the street, through the person on the bicycle and up to the distant church tower. I think that some adjustments with the shadows/highlights would have given more substance to the slightly overexposed left half of the picture.
Best regards,
Gert
