Photographer’s Note
Anton Brunszvik, a well respected administrator in the service of the Royal Court, was granted the rank of count by the Queen Maria Theresia in 1775. The Brunszvik mansion in Martonvásár (click on the map) together with a nice church was originally built in the last decades of the 18th century in Baroque then rebuilt hundred years later in English Gothic style.
Ludwig van Beethoven visited Martonvásár several times where he was impressed by the beautiful and calm, huge English park (look at the photo in WS) and even more by the young Countess Josephine. Though in 1800 her mother married her off to the 50-year old Count von Dehm, an unhappy marriage like her subsequent marriage, the later biographers found convincing evidence for a deep and lasting commitment between two lonely souls, Josephine and Beethoven. Jospehine is suspected to be the "Immortal Beloved" (unsterbliche Geliebte), many letters adressed to whom were found in Beethoven's room after his death.

Hello Laszio,
I love this shot, beautiful in itself, but far more importantly because of the subject. I am currently in the early stages of writing a book, "Beethoven, Newton and Leonardo: Patterns of Creativity." Your note is superlative, as is the simple but elegant shot of the palace. I see we are neighbors today.
Warm regards,
Culent

Ciao caro Laszlo,
Complimenti!
Ciao, passa una buona settimana!

Laszlo,
This is a nice shot of this great castle. The trees frame the shot nicely as well as providing contrast for the bright white castle. The lighting and colors are great as is the photo's sharpness.

Alles Gute aus dem weiterhin sommerlichen Siegen! Grüße an die ganze "Mannschaft"!

excellent presentation of this superb old Brunszvik mansion, with the big trees and the great perspective to make it so impressive.I like the brilliant light, as the vivid colours of the scene. The huge English park in the WS complete the scene.Well done.

Hello Lazlo,
The mansion has a magnificent and delicate architecture, with its immaculate white which contrasts well with the sky and trees.
A great story for unhappy composictor and his beloved. The garden is very beautiful and very typical for romance.
Excellent light and details.
Best wishes,
Charo

Hi Laszlo
This castle is an excellent photo subject because you can get shining highlights from its facade and have them contrast clearly against the blues and greens around
Have a nice day JY

Hello Laszlo,
The strong vivid colors of this shot are extremely appealing. It is a very seen and well composed shot with excellent clarity and detail. Simply beautiful!
I love Beethoven's music and enjoyed the 1994 film "Immortal Beloved" about his life.
Thank you for the superb note.
Kind regards,
Betty
