In the pedestrian precinct, Pécs
The Király street is the best-known pedestrian precinct of the downtown. A lot interesting shop, historic building visible in the street.
Pécs is the fifth largest city of Hungary, located on the slopes of the Mecsek mountains in the south-west of the country, close to its border with Croatia. It is the administrative and economical centre of Baranya county. Pécs is also the seat of Roman Catholic Diocese of Pécs.
Pécs is one of the most important intellectual, spiritual, cultural and economic centres of Southern Transdanubia. Combined with its priceless heritage sites, its lively cultural scene, theatres and museums, and the surrounding holiday resorts make the town a popular tourist centre.
First named Sopianae, the settlement came under the authority of the Roman Empire in 10 BC. The early Christian period of Sopianae is preserved by the Early Christian Necropolis uncovered in the area in front of the current Cathedral around the former Mons Sacrum (Sacred Hill). This unique heritage complex was entered onto the World Heritage Sites.
The first Hungarian king, St Stephen, established the bishopric and the cathedral of Pécs in a charter dated 23rd August 1009 in Győr. The first Hungarian university was founded here by the Anjou King Louis I the Great in 1367. The period between 1459 and 1472 was the era of Bishop Janus Pannonius and the flowering of Renaissance culture in Pécs. This spirit can still be traced in the features in the town centre, a district that is made even more special by the numerous characteristic buildings surviving from the Turkish times.
The most famous of the major factories in Pécs is the Zsolnay Porcelain Manufacture. The world-famous products made in this works over the past century can be seen not only in the local Zsolnay Museum, but are also decorating numerous public spaces.
A plenitude of museums safeguards the town's historic remains in addition to the heritage buildings. Several contemporary fine arts collections enrich the list of things to see and do in the town, among which are galleries dedicated to world famous artists of Hungarian origin like Victor Vasarely or Amerigo Tot. Another very well cropped and pleasingly bright street scene from this elegant old town. You've made it look absolutely a must-visit in these photos of yours. The composition here is magnificent, with the eye being drawn inexorably towards the white church with its burgundy coloured dome. What could have been a too-large empty space on the left is filled with the marvellous cobblestone pattern. The couple on the right make a good foreground highlight to come back to after the church. Great work.

Truly attractive and very interesting urban & architecture & daily life picture!

Greetings George. The first thing that strikes me here is the wonderful clarity of the image, helped no doubt by the expertly handled light. There is excellent depth too as the eye travels from the two people on the right to the domed white building at the end of the precinct. The empty area is enriched by the cobbled patterns. if Pecs is pronounce pech, there is a word in Croatian,peć, which means oven or stove. Pozdrav. Klaudio.

Another great shot of this lively street scene, the pastel calors of the building really make this make, the most intrguing aspect. Excellent pov in subtle light and perspective with some inviting foreground interest, in paticular i love the pattern on the pavement and the couple, the strong supplementary elements all combine precisely in the frame. Another thumb ups are the clarity and exposure, perfectly controlled to highest quality. A very satisfying image. Splendid work, Congrats
