Concathedral? Photo

Photographer’s Note

In a former posting I wrote about the Greek Catholic Diocese of Hajdúdorog mentioning that, despite of the name of the diocese, the real seat of the bishop is Nyíregyháza consequently also the real cathedral of the Hungarian Greek Catholics is in this town. Now I know that the situation is more complicated. Fülöp Kocsis, the new leader of the diocese, received his episcopal ordination (on 30.06.2008, in the presence of Cardinal Sandri) in Hajdúdorog, the young Greek Catholic priests used to be ordained in Máriapócs - well, the seat of the bishop is in fact Nyíregyháza.
On the picture you can see his home church (?) or cathedral (?) or concathedral (?) built in 1897 by B. Vojtovits.

Hallo László!
Die kirchenrechtlichen Probleme und die ungarischen Namen machen einen hier fast schwindelig ;-)) Viel wichtiger ist diese wunderschöne Ansicht - mit einer Eiche, die sich weigert, ihre Blätter abzuwerfen - unglaublich! Die Perspektive entlang diesen Fassaden und der (gestochen scharfe) "Durchblick" durch die Bäume ergeben einen herrlichen Anblick - auch ohne Sonnenschein.
(Bei Dir wage ich es: bist Du sicher, in der Karte die richtige Kirche "getroffen" zu haben?)

very nice presentation of the Greek Cathedral or what else can be.Informative your note as the brilliant construction that the main characteristics are the sharpness and the clarity of the scene.Well done.

elle est tres belle cette place et ta photo fait envie de visiter Nyiregyhaza. Je viens de passer quelques bons moments pour contempler les details. Ta note va bien avec cette belle image.

bella foto, nitida e con un buon equilibrio della luce malgrado mancasse il sole. Apprezzo il POV che include una piacevole prospettiva della facciata della chiesa. Speriamo che i preti si mettano d'accordo... ;-)

Hi Laszlo,

A really fine composition. The lamp post and the trees in the foreground works really well as a lead in to the beautiful church. It also make the composition much more attractive. I love the soft winter lighting. TFS and have a nice weekend!
