Photographer’s Note

When I uploaded this photo I was thinking about the title, I had some ideas:
Discreet charme of Eastern Bloc
Beauty of the sweet 1970s
Achitecture of "Goulash Communism"
Sample town of the "happiest barrack"

From the 1960s through the late 1980s, Hungary was often satirically referred to as "the happiest barrack" within the Eastern bloc, because of the standard of living was closer to Scandinavia than any other Eastern European countries (Today the heritage and the problems of the welfare systems shows this speciality).
These objects (the tall housing estates, the memorial...etc) was built in the 1970s to demonstrate the creative force of modernized provincial Hungary.

But I decided name it simply 900th birthday, because in 1975 Szolnok, the town celebrated its 900-year-old anniversary (you can realize 9 layers of the huge statue symbolizing the 9 centuries of the town)(first the town was mentioned in a foundation letter and contract of Garamszentbenedek Abbey in 1075 by Hungarian king Geza II, but the excavations proved there was a settlement here from the neoliticum, so it is not just the 900th birthday, but like an old woman ... some years, decades, centuries have been forgotten).

This anniversary celebration names the square Jubileum.
I took this photo in the evening. I hope you like it!
