Photographer’s Note

When introducing Szeged it is simply impossible not to mention the university. Think of that: Szeged has 170 000 inhabitants (many of them working for the university or one of the research institutes) and the university has 30 000 students (from several countries)! Any kind of culture (here world music as I remember) on streets, in pubs and everywhere is quite usual in Szeged.
The University of Szeged is one of the most distinguished universities in Hungary and in Central Europe. According to the Academic Ranking of World Universities by Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2003, 2004, 2005), it was ranked 203-300th in the complete list and 1st in national ranking. Historians find its predecessor in the Academia of Kolozsvár, founded 1581 by Stephen Báthory, duke of Transsylvania and king of Poland which then served as base for the Kolozsvári Egyetem (University of today's Cluj-Napoca), that had to be moved to Hungary in 1921, and was restarted in Szeged. This move was occasioned by the conclusion of World War I when the Trianon Peace Treaty changed the rule in Transsylvania and ceded that province to Romania. Among its professors was Albert Szent-Györgyi, one of the founders of the Faculty of Science, who received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1937 for his discoveries in connection with vitamin C. The main strenghts of the university are mathematics, the natural sciences and medicine.

As for the picture: I know the crop is quite tight but the facade of the rector's residence was in a depressing condition - obviously the university had spent all his fortune in the new library. (Forgive me, I was student here and I don't want to show any bad of my university.)

in your gallery there are some very nice pictures, like this one from Szeged (Segedin we say). Thank you very much. Also i am waiting for some views from Hungarians little villages: scenes, people...

Hallo Laszlo!
Eine wunderschön entspannte Atmosphäre zeigst Du uns hier und die Einbeziehung der jungen Damen im Vordergrund schafft eine tolle Tiefe. Das scheint ein wirklich schöner Platz zu sein. Wenn man genau hinhört, kann man die Musik aus dem Hintergrund hören. ;-) Dein Kommentar ist sehr engagiert und man merkt, dass Dir diese Universität sehr nahe steht.
Übrigens, Siegen hat rd. 110.000 Einwohner und rd. 13.000 Studenten.

molto bella la scena di vita quotidiana fuori questa prestigiosa universita' .
alcune volte e' meglio investire i soldi in cultura pittosto che per rimodernare la parte che non hai mostrato . a cosa serve una universita' bellissima se non si hanno i libri ?

Remek !! A mozgalmasság itt is megmaradt, mint az utca képednél. Jól megoldottad a kör alakú szökőkút és az épület síkba helyezését, szinkronját. Gyönyörű színek kisérik minden fotódat.

Nagyszerű életkép számos kedves részlettel, a zenekar muzsikája és a szökőkút hangulata engem is hosszas üldögélésre csábítana. A színek nagyon szépek, talán csak a képkivágáson változtatnék, hogy látható legyen a vízsugár teljes pompájában, valamint megmutattam volna teljes egészében az előtérben üldögélőket is.

Örülök, hoyg ismét olyat mutatsz be, ami közel áll hozzád!!
Ne aggódj, nem hiányzik a teteje. Pont annyi van belőle a képben amennyi szükséges. A hangsúly itt is az embereken van, remekül látszik a nyüzsgő élet. Tetszik a perspektíva a két hölggyel a előtérben. A színek is nagyon jók lettek!

Szia Laci,
hát szó ami szó,ezek szerint jól eltakartad a nem éppenséggel látnivaló részleteket. Ha nem olvassa el az ember a jegyzetedet, nem is gondolná, hogy van mit takargatni, hiszen a kép maga is tiszta és rendezett. A két háttal ülő hölgy első pillantásra, nem volt számomra meggyőző, de be kell ismernem, hogy nélkülük kiegyensúlyozatlan lenne az összkép.
