Photographer’s Note

Today is my, sorry, the 27th anniversary of the famous and international guide “Carlos dice” (not avalaible in shops) and I want to celebrate this date with this picture.
My last post was my first pano with my d-80 and this one is my last pano with my old d-50 (the next day the camera passed away).

Nice memories of a nice place.
I miss this place (and no, I don’t miss Barcelona).
I see this picture and I see a city that has become a monster... but at the same this problem is one of the best and more amazing elements of this city.
Every corner is different and chaos rules everywhere... but I love it.

It’s strange... I love Cocoland and Athens is so and so different... but I love both (well, of course, Cocoland is better than Athens).

Hi Coco,
I love Athens too, in spite of noises, traffic... monsters of cement!!! The beauty is in the incredible difference between ancient and new, between breathless beauty and modern caos...
I love this landscape...

The POV you have used to capture the Acropolis really leaves out all the modern ugliness. I like that side light that brightens everything up and the panoramic mode emphasiszes its great presence.

a classical site displayed in a classical manner; i like the dry, arid feel you have achieved by picking just the right (it seems) light and sky. interesting, how the half-ruined works of the ancients still manages to dominate the multi-million urban chaos that rules the lowlands by the acropoli.

Well, this is my favorite site and most of your pictures capture it excellently!! This one is an autumn picture (it looks like one to me) and it has a certain melancholic element! The panorama shot suits wonderfully with the Acropolis! Excellent work! Thank you for sharing! Regards Stella
