on my trips to Greece I saw lots of those men - and women!

Βγαίνουμε στις ανοικτές θάλασσες, οι ναυτικοί πιο σκεφτικοί, τρέχουν πάνω κάτω σαν αλλοπαρμένοι, η θάλασσα φουσκώνει κι αγριεύει, εδώ τελειώνουν τ αστεία.
Το μάτι θολώνει απ την αλμύρα και ο άνεμος που μας κτυπά στο πρόσωπο αλύπητα.

Διαβάζοντας τις κριτικές που έλαβε η φωτογραφία δεν μπόρώ παρά να συμφωνήσω με τον Δάνο! Νοιώθω ότι θέλω να προσθέσω ότι έχεις προσεγγίσει με τέχνη το προτραίτο...και ότι έχεις αναδείξει με ευγένεια κάθε "ρυτίδα". Μεταφέρεις όχι απλά ένα πρόσωπο...αλλά και την ιστορία του! Υπέροχη Κώστα!

Hello Dear Kostas,

This man is Popeye the Sailorman, his weathered face having seen rough seas, still seas, and now retired. He probably has the large forearms, bulging with muscles, but has forsaken the pipe hanging from the side of his mouth. Super portrait in your signature B&W.

How you always find those old men is curious, do you live on an island of veterans?
His expression makes me sad, he looks tired of life, yet still not broken. What troubles did he live through to have so many wrinkles on his forhead?
Anyway, great use of light and DOF. I also like how his BG is divided into two parts, light and dark.
