Photographer’s Note
The sky was red and the silent public was amazed by a wonderful spectacle.
The Sun was hidden but we could see the last reflections over the horizont and also reflected on the sky.
Somehow this is so beautiful.
I think Gerardo Alonso was who said the beauty of poetry and art is great, but is even better the beauty of the nature and I think he was right.
Can you recognize the shapes of the windmills from Oia?
Finally let me say: there's something wrong in the photo and it so obvius (it depends of the screen because I can see this problem in my laptop but not here) and I talk about the rocks in the foreground.
I hope you like it.
(maybe I will be a few days off because I will go to Zaragoza, Burgos and Cocolandia)

Hey there Carlos,
I prefer Red myself, however I've created a WK on this picture just an alternative version. I hope you like it.
Nice POV/colour here

The colours are stunning. We don't see many sunsets like this one. The orange stripe amongst the red complements the red so beautifully. The size of the rocks in the foreground is small so don't worry about them. I had to look very hard to notice they are out of focus. If you hadn't mentioned there was something wrong I wouldn't have looked for it. Excellent shot.

Hello carklos,
unblieveable colors, one could think of using an orange filter in this picture...nevertheless this colorful sunset is one of the reasons for the great public-run on santorini-island; greta thake indeed, congratulations and a good journey..

you call it "boring", i call it "stunning" carlos... i ve been to oia but never seen such a thing, lucky you to witness this beauty... i like the vertical compo with a big portion of the sky and the mills only... who cares for the rocks on the foreground, still a great shot...

Hello Carlos,
What a splendid image with the completely pink sky.
Also the mills give a excellent perspective line, and nice contrast with the black silhouettes against the colourfully sky.
Very well done, TFS.

Hola Carlos,
Josep

come on... if you say that it's yet another boring sunset you must have gone mad...:-)))
i hardly ever visit sunsetting photos but this one is definitely something... it stands out not only for the unique tonality of the sky - it's got a perfect composition which conveys a classical don-kichot scenery...
respect!

Hello Carlos,
You may have tranformed in in a way or another: I'll tell you something, I am often in juries of selection commitees in photo competitions. So what do we do when we are confronted with such a picture ? We simply -say " The result is most important, the means are less important. This is why this one takes my points - Friendly yours.
On September 22, I'll be opening an exhibition in Lisbon. at the Jeronimos Monaster. Any chance for you to come with Oscar ?

Not boring at all, Carlos. It's a real pleasure to observe all the diferent reds in this marvellous vertical composition. And also nice to see the photographers working in WS. Yes, I can see the rocks you refer, but only because you mentioned them as they are almost unvisible. A magic moment, very well captured.

Hola, Coco.
Saludos,
Clemente

Hi Carlos,
If to you boring means spectacular colours, then maybe I will agree with your title :) Stunning shades of red, orange and yellow in this image...you have really captured something remarkable. The characteristic windmills of Oia remind the viewer that this region is renowned for having the most beautiful sunsets in the world. Thanks for sharing!
