Photographer’s Note

A short break from Serifos. Last Sunday we decided to go for a swim to Horefto, a drive through the top of Mount Pilio. It was foggy and chilly and stopped for a couple of minutes and here's a shot. In the foreground you can see ferns, my favorite delicacy. We usually collect the fresh sprouts in the early Spring grind them into a paste and mix them with fresh onions and other herbs and fry them in small balls. Really a great taste.

This looks like some of the meadows in Vancouver Island, the misty background against the green ferns look excellent. The slight out of focus look in the fg is also good in my opinion.

Τέλεια ατμόσφαιρα!!!!
Οι φτέρες είναι πανέμορφες και το έντονο χρώμα τους υποδηλώνει την ζωντάνια τους μέσα σε αυτό τον υπέροχο γι αυτές τόπο. Η ομίχλη δίνει ζωή σε όλο το οικοσύστημα και έτσι διατηρείται η ισορροπία του.
Η φωτογραφία μας μεταφέρει με τον καλύτερο τρόπο αυτή την ζωντάνια.

It is never easy to shoot the forest with restrictive light conditions. In this capture, the ferns appear fresh green and just great lighting at FG, while the mist behind is fading the forest.

Δεν ξέρω τι μου έκανε περισσότερο εντύπωση. Το πανέμορφο, λίγο εξωτικό τοπίο. ή η συνταγή σου με την φτέρη.

Ηταν ενα παλιο μεσαιονικο βρετανικο τραγουδι, τραγουδισμενο απο τη Joan Baez, που αρχιζε καπως ετσι " one misty morning early......", λοιπον μολις ειδα την φωτογραφια σου μου ηρθε στο νου, αν και το υπεροχο αυτο δασος βρισκεται στο Πηλιο !
Η συνθεση και η εκτελεση ειναι αξια συγχαρητηριων.

άπ΄ ότι βλέπω είναι πρόσφατη η φωτογραφία σου και παρ΄ ότι Καλοκαιρι η ομίχλη,όμίχλη.Πολύ ωραίο το σκηνικό από τα Χάνια, από ένα δάσος που δεν ζηλεύει σε τίποτα από τα άλλα της Ευρώπης.Η ομίχλη δημιουργεί μιά αίσθηση μυστηρίου και ιδανικό καταφύγιο για το Καλοκαίρι.

It is incredible that this forest is located in Greece. It looks like taken in the deepths of Amazon...I love such forest photos in deep shade, fresh tones of green and when the mist is present, it also becomes mysterious as well as beautiful. TFS,
