An "oldie" for today!

5 months have passed already since my last visit to my hometown, Ierapetra, Crete, and I am becoming a little bit homesick. So I searched in some of my old files to find a photo from Ierapetra.

This is just a photo from the dock of the town's harbour. Of course, we can't enjoy such majestic spectacles as the Northern Lights, but sometimes "our" Southern Lights can be quite impressive.

what a nice idea to compare it with the aurora borealis :)
I think the best combination is : the warm greek sun during day and nothern lights in the evening :)

Fascinating lighting! I really like the combination of the orange lights in front and the ominous sky behind. Good balance of the boat and the town, too.

yes that is indeed an oldie. With shots like this you got my attention about one year ago. The long exposure with the blurr of the sea and the clouds providing additional color rendition in that movement. Good as always!

Those lights are mystical, it seems the pattern and lights comes from an abyss. Congrats on this, you did well in PP.

Amazing sharpness of the boat in 30s, meaning it does not move at all. Good effect of the clouds for this moody blur. The photo attracts me to the boat and the jetty with starry light.

the long time pause has created a superb effect in the sky,is it because it was very windy? Its colours and luminosity,with the blurred effect make that it seems completly unreal!I like the contrast between the blue and the golden coulrs of the boat and the harbour!Very nice!

Mientras te piensas la respuesta, decir que la foto está bien. Aunque es una lástima esa especie de ruido que tiene la parte inferior.

Por cierto: en unas dos semanas empiezan vacaciones forzosas para mi y mi último vuelo será el día 15 (creo) a Atenas... ¿será el destino?

¿Conoces algún sitio donde busquen a alguien para un trabajo donde sea requisito el castellano?
