This very ancient structure is the ruin of a very old Orthodox Church in Plaka, at the base of the Acropolis.

The lovely cherry blossom tree helps to create a warm palette of colors. You must be enjoying your stay in Greece immensely, or are you back in the Far East? And regarding Uhu, he has indeed given us a spectacular gallery of Orthodox Churches in Russia.

Hello Murray,

I like the pink/blue colour combo here, because it is eye-catching and lively. The more traditional greens are complementary also. It was good to base your image around this brick wall skirting the base, a strong natural border. The conifer to the side gives the scene the vertical height needed to draw the eye up and across this image. The roof structure here is unusual, especially for Greece I would think. I have recently been learning about ancient Greek planning and architecture (Hippodamus). They were certainly the forerunners of design and structure. Well done Murray, will check up your other shots when I can.

Good use of the wall to frame the lowerpart, nice sweet colors and sharp details. The textures are well rendered due to well balanced exposure levels. Nice little church too.

Oh, Murray, this is beautiful.
