Photographer’s Note

Pisoderi Village is the first one of the Prespes region (although quite far from the lakes) that you'll meet coming from Florina. Located at an altitude of 1420 m its the nearest village to the Vigla Ski Center (SEE HERE). It was once a prosperous village of Vlah farmers and shepperds, but like most of the villages of the region, passed a period of decline after the end of WW2 and the Greek civil war.

The last years is "back to life" , because of visitors of the Ski Center and the Prespes area. You' ll find some nice guesthouses. Here you see a small part of the village. You can visit the Old Modesteios school which is transformed to a Hotel, the stone made church of Agia Paraskevi, and about 2-3 km after the village, the deserted monastery of Aghia Triada (Holy Trinity).

Hi Hercules!
Snow in Greece !?!? that sound strange to me.And 2 weeks ago from a plane ,I saw a lot of snow on Turkey and no snow in Europe.
I like how you managed the difficult light here and recived a good contrast of the few houses with the light enviroment.

Very impressive shot, with this high houses and snow everywhere. The light is very good despite the threatening sky. Thanks to you, we can discover many places of Ellas and make dreams or plans to visit it!

Πάντα με γοητεύουν τα χειμωνιάτικα τοπία. Το χρώμα των σπιτιών δίνει έναν ζεστό τόνο στα συνήθως ψυχρά χιονισμένα θέματα. Με έχουν δυσκολέψει πάρα πολύ τα χιονισμένα θέματα λόγο του υψηλού κοντραστ γι' αυτό και με εντυπωσιάζει το αποτέλεσμά σου.
Στις άκρες της φωτογραφίας παρατήρησα το φαινόμενο Purple Fringing. Η διόρθωση που προσφέρει το LightRoom (όχι του PS) είναι πολύ καλή.

The point you stood is great when you consider the wide angle. I also like photos when the snow is like real snow, it is white :)
The yellow and brown houses contrast nicely with the white land and the grey sky. Very photogenic place indeed. Cheers,

some of us can only dream about white snow, crispy fresh air and a moody time here in south Italy. The white snow really highlights the rich shade of the country. Splendid sharpness and clarity. Love the contrast between sky and foreground.

This is a fine winter image. I like the composition using the hillside to create a diagonal through the shot. The lighting and colors are fine with excellent sharpness and detail. The colors of the buildings create nice contrast to the show and clouds.

Hi Hercules. I was looking at the shot that you posted after this (of the town of Florina), but the colours in that were just so over-powering, they forced me back to this shot which has much more subdued and natural colours which I like. The snow on the roofs and in the field left of centre is blown out, but I know that is difficult to manage without under-exposing and a lot of PP. Cheers . . . David

Preciosa foto de la villa cubierta de nieve, una escena de invierno muy acogedora y muy bien captada. Tu punto de vista nos permite disfrutar de tan bello lugar, los colores y claridad estan magnificos.
